Cherries Teapot Sells for $2,500, Aids Local Children’s Charity

A rare Cherries Teapot sold for $2,500 at an auction benefitting the Team Mojo Foundation, which helps create opportunities for underprivileged young people. The Homer Laughlin China Collectors Association (HLCCA) teamed up with HLC to offer one-of-a-kind Fiesta pieces for auction this summer to raise money for the organization.

The winning bidder of the Cherries teapot was Chase Ratchford of North Carolina. The entire $2,500 proceeds benefited Team Mojo Foundation, which was founded by HLC eCommerce manager Bill Crawford.

With a motto of “helping kids shine,” Team Mojo Fundation is headquartered across the Ohio River from HLC in East Liverpool, Ohio, and raises money to help underprivileged kids excel in extracurricular activities like music, dance, sports, and scouting.

These types of activities can enrich a child’s life, but are often out of reach because of the financial commitment they require. Team Mojo seeks to level the playing field and create opportunity for all kids to enjoy the benefits.

The organization has also funded academic tutoring, books, band uniforms, and assistance with prom, graduation, summer camp, and driver’s education.
